Advocacy

Aging Services of Washington is an advocacy leader for long term care, assisted living, affordable housing, and senior living and community services in Washington.  We believe in forging coalitions with other compatible advocacy groups, placing long term care and aging services issues as a top priority.

We continually maintain a visible presence at the state Legislature, and with the Departments of Social and Health Services, Health, Labor & Industries, Revenue, State Fire Marshal, Office of Financial Management, Health Care Authority, Community, Trade and Economic Development, and the Washington State Housing Finance Commission.  During and between legislative sessions, members’ policy and fiscal needs are identified and discussed with the Governor’s office, elected officials and relevant House and Senate legislative committee staff.
