Committees

The work of Aging Services of Washington’s committees and work groups supports and directs the focus of the organization.  All members are invited to join the committees as voting or non-voting participants. 2008-09 Minutes 

Please contact us for more information on the following committees:


  • Assisted Living – Key Issues: State boarding home regulations, survey and compliance issues, Medicaid funding, caregiver training and legislative issues affecting assisted living services.
  • Executive Committee – Key Issues: (Elected Position) In accordance with the bylaws, the executive committee transacts all necessary business between board meetings and other business referred to it by the Board.
  • Finance/Audit Committee - Key Issues: Aging Services operating budget, audit activities, and investments.
  • Health Care Committee - Key Issues: AAHSA Long Term Care Financing framework, residential Medicaid payment systems, certificate of need, and survey and other compliance issues.
  • Professional Development Committee – Key Issues: Deveolp educational offerings throughout the year for front-line and management staff, and plan Annual Conference, Leadership Summit and Legislative Rally.
  • Public Relations Committee – Key Issues: Social Accountability including 990 forms and inventory of community benefits, image, awards, public relations and communication strategies, including the telling of member stories. More
  • Senior Living & Community Services Committee - Key Issues: Advocacy for low income and affordable housing and supportive community services, housing and community support services policy and delivery mechanisms, HUD regulations and fair housing.   Supportive services include home health, home care, adult day services, respite, senior nutrition, and transportation.
  • Technology Committee – Key Issues: Work with CAST and develop partnerships with technology companies and other interested parties to encourage development of affordable and relevant products for seniors and providers. More
  • Workforce Development Committee – Key Issues: Identify needed talent, collaborate with professional schools and others to grow our talent pool, provide resources to members to attract and retain staff, promote Aging Services scholarship program.
