Aging Services of Washington supports and encourages professional development at all levels of staffing and provides a number of educational sessions and conferences per year to individuals in the aging services field. These are opportunities to advance knowledge and growth through hands-on learning, networking with peers, and sharing best practices.
Our major educational offerings include:
Nursing Summit: This conference is generally held in February, and focuses on current Nursing issues.
Legislative Rally: Usually held in February, this one-day rally brings together our member’s residents from all over the state to talk with their legislators about the current legislative issues.
Summer Conference and Tradeshow: Typically held each year in June, Aging Services of Washington members come together to network, learn about the latest trends in long-term care and share best practices with their peers. The Annual Business Meeting is held in conjunction with this conference. More information
Fall Leadership Conference: This one-day conference is held in late-September or early October annually. The topics focus on enhancing and strengthening leadership abilities at all levels.
Leadership Institute: To develop leaders who will serve their organizations, state affiliates and the field of aging services in an exemplary, dynamic and innovative fashion. This new class of leaders will be the pioneers for the future of aging services. Participants will engage in four face- to- face learning experiences that include visits to member communities, intimate conversations with aging services leaders and self-exploration of leadership styles through exercises and readings.
